Learning about the meaning of my name and some of its history

Like any other day I was scrolling through my social media feed when I saw and ad for ancestry.com and was a little intrigued to see what I could find out about my family name

Heres what I found

McCann
Irish (northern Armagh): Anglicized form of Gaelic Mac Cana 'son a Cana' a personal name or by name meaning 'Wolf Cub'.

Historical Documents with the name McCann

403,422 Birth,Death and Marriages
48,481 Military Records
44,512 Immigration Records

This is not my image as I live in birmingham and wolf are pretty much like unicorns here .

A Late June Favorites

I really loved theses products last month as the Charlotte Tilbury products were an absolute steal from John lewis

Godess Skin Clay Mask

This is not your typical mask (throwing it waaayy back to the masks where it sounded like you just got botox and had bitch resting face for twenty minutes)as it is made with spanish clay, sweet almond oil and Frangpani extract these ingredient combined together help to brigten and improve elasticity in the skin I noticed that my skin looked more plump and hydrated.

Charlotte's Magic Cream

Coined "The miracle moisturiser" I wanted this to live up to its to its name and to get that sought after etheral glow
I wasn't sure whether I liked at first after I tried it a few more times my skin looked flawless (dare it say it) and had blurred out imperfectons.

Wonder Glow Instant Soft Focus Beauty Flash

For that instant golden glow look no further as it makes you look like you are glowing from the inside out paired with the magic cream it creates a dewy complexion to die for.

M.A.C Strobe Cream

This multipurpose cream can be worn as a moisturiser/prmer and a highlight which a a bonus for me as I use it for all three plus it saves money because I only have to purchase one.

M.A.C Velvet Teddy

The most universal nude that everyone can pull off.

Let me know what youve been loving

REDKEN EXTREME SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER : REVIEW

After I damaged my hair to complete fukery (If you want to go white/blonde from dark brown get it done by a professional ) I decided to take matters into my own hands and started to search the internet to find some way of reviving the detrimental damage caused by using home bleaching kits and came across Kat Williams from ROCK N ROLL BRIDE blog post on how to restore overprocessed/bleached hair and she recommends using the shampoo and conditioner from REDKEN'S exreme range so I thought I would give it a shot and let you know my thoughts

The packaging was not much to look at but I didnt care as long as the products themselves worked
a little does go a long way the shampoo and conditioner lathered up quickly and smelt vaguely fruity  I left both in for the duration of my bath and rinsed to product out at noticed immediate results my hair didnt feel like straw for the first time in three weeks and no longer look liked I came from an asylum

Im with Kat on this
Let me know if you have any embarassing hair stories

Why being single is awesome

Me time
There are many benefits of engaging in a little 'me' time
such as higher levels of concentration and productivity
it also helps your brain reboot making it easier to unwind

You can wear what you want
No make up, messy hair and tracksuit bottoms need I go on

You don't have to share a bed
Sure the cuddling is great but by the middle of the night your fighting for the covers

The teddy stays
Sometimes that's the only companion you need and wont keep you awake at night

Chick-flicks too
There's no look of despair when you suggest the notebook

Tell me you favorite thing about being single in the comments

Alexander McQueen

Death Of a Legend : 5 years on

5 years ago today was Alexander McQueen's memorial where the likes of Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell and Sarah Jessica Parker bid a bitter-sweet fair well to one of England's Most iconic fashion designers

sadly McQueen took his Life on February 11th 2010, 3 years after Isabella blow committed suicide his friend and inspiration .

I like many other fell in love with McQueen's Work in 09 when I was studying GCSE fashion and religiously started researching all his previous collections from his very first collection to his last

Deemed as " The Bad boy of fashion " McQueen Certainly Kept up with his end of the bargain with his Spring/Summer 98 "golden shower "collection  featuring a lot of nudity latex sheer fabrics and models walking down the catwalk as rain cascaded down from the machine above.

Not to say that McQueen didn't also delve into slightly less bondage-esque approach with his Spring/ Summer 07 "sarabande" collection which saw a Botanic with a Gothic twist.

"Things rot, I used flowers because they die my mood was darkly romantic at the time "-McQueen

Shortly after his death Sarah Burton became creative director for Alexander McQueen has gone on to design the Duchess of Cambridge wedding dress

I just wanted to dedicate a post to one of the most daring and influential fashion designers whose creativity has captivated, influenced and inspired my style

RIP Alexander McQueen

Give me time and I'll give you a revolution.
I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists
Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment.
- MCQUEEN

Things I hate about cinemas: Contains Swearing

Going to the cinema is the first thing you suggest when you and your friends want to kill some time were for a couple of hours you can escape the outside world to become immersed in someone elses whether you sob your heart out at the love story in the newest Nicholas Sparks film of you want to see the latest Steven Spielberg has to offer with his latest sci-fi blockbuster of which there are many ( E.T, Back to the Future, Transformers etc take your pick).

The following cant just happen to me

  • I am only nineteen but I do remember the good ole days when cinema ticket where roughly £4 and you didn't have to sell one of your precious organs on the black market to buy a ticket
  • don't get me started on the cinema confectionery you only have to fill the pick'n'mix box a quarter of the way and it'll cost you £7
  • people who walk into the theater 15 minutes into the film deciding that they want to sit on your row so you politely stand up the let them pass but the minute you sit down they then decide  don't like the view and decide to move again
  • the couple that doesn't come up for air we all get that your Totes loved up and that you entire life is never-ending Disney song and that you cant go five minute without sucking each others faces of like your the kraken sinking large merchant ships with you tentacles wrapped around each others tonsils if you want to partake in underwater activities you could have gone snorkeling nobody needs to here the smacking as your lips make contact for the millionth time
  • The annoying child that constantly kicks the back of your chair and the mother or father that couldn't give two shits about controlling their child even though you have as asked nicely for them to discipline as they see fit as I quite like being able to walk
 and lastly when you see and new trailer for a remake ,origin story or any new movie for that matter 'That's going to be crap';
with our forever advancing technology and special affect when a director decides to remake or do a prequel to a film but tell it in a different way and either telling it in a darker, grittier or a more theatrical angle how can you base an entire 2 hour movie in three minutes of footage everyone is entitled your opinion but for fuck sake see the film and then decide if you didn't like it

                                      Thanks for reading

Makeup Basics 101

No 1
Add 1 drop of Bio oil into your foundation to create a flawless complexion and will keep your skin hydrated.

No 2
To create a matte finish to a satin lipstick first you will need to apply your desired lipstick then blot with some tissue then using a powder brush apply a matte powder over your lips (it will not only turn matte but it will also last all day).

No 3
To appear more awake add white eyeliner on your lower water line.

No 4
To make your lipstick to make appear more vibrant put a pale nude lipstick or your foundation and then apply your lipstick

 No 5
To pull of bold make up focus on either the lips or the eyes never both unless it for Halloween or a night out with the girls.

No 6
You can make your own hair chalk buy spraying the hair spray onto small strand of hair  then with  your eye shadow brush apply a colorful eye shadow into your hair.

No 7
When buying a new foundation match the shade to your neck.

No 8
Use a tooth bush to exfoliate your lips.

No  9
To create fuller lips use a lip pencil and line slightly outside your lips.

First Base

My everyday make up routine

Clinique anti-blemish all over cleansing treatment - this product has saved my skin during these harsh winter months, not only from fighting blemishes, but hydrating my dry skin and has made it way into my top products of all time.

Benefit they're real push up liner - Gel liner is very difficult to master if your a beginner as it's incredibly hard to get off unless you like to walk around made up to resemble the Joker in that case you do you but if you are just starting out in make up I wouldn't recommend this particular liner and try felt tip liners instead to start you off .

Maxfactor False lash effect - The only brown mascara in my collection thats really good for those minimal or no make up days I also like to use it to set my brows.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation - Decadence in a bottle, if there is one luxury item that you are willing to dip into you savings for this foundation is the creme de la creme of base products that offers a flawless coverage.

Yves Rocher Sculpt brush - Great tool for any body who loves make up paired with any cool toned brown shadow or bronzer.

Clinique anti-blemish liquid make up - perfect light foundation that you could wear on its own or
to build up and then apply a more high coverage foundation over the top.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick- Bitch perfect is a cool toned pink that will take you from day to night.
